Locum Band 6 Urgent & Emergency Care Occupational Therapist – Devon

JustOT is currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Urgent & Emergency Care Occupational Therapist to join a busy team based in Devon.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced OT with a strong acute background who can work confidently in a fast-paced environment, making timely clinical decisions to support patients with urgent care needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete timely assessments and develop appropriate treatment and discharge plans.
• Work within an urgent and emergency care setting, supporting safe and effective patient pathways.
• Assess patients' functional abilities, identifying risks and support requirements.
• Apply knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 when assessing patients.
• Undertake moving and handling assessments and interventions.
• Work collaboratively with the wider MDT to ensure safe and timely patient care.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent.
• Experience in an acute hospital or urgent care response setting.
• Ability to assess patients and make clinical decisions at pace.
• Broad clinical experience, particularly within older people's health.
• Good working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
• Confident completing moving and handling tasks.
