Locum Band 6 Acute Stroke Occupational Therapist – NW London
JustOT is recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join an acute stroke team based in North West London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated OT with acute stroke experience to support patients through their hospital rehabilitation journey, helping them regain independence and achieve the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage a caseload of patients following an acute stroke.
- Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, identifying patients’ functional abilities and rehabilitation needs.
- Plan and deliver evidence-based, patient-centred interventions to maximise independence in daily activities.
- Assess transfers, mobility, personal care and equipment needs.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with medical, nursing and therapy colleagues.
- Support safe and timely discharge planning, including onward referrals and liaison with community services.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure high standards of patient care.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration.
- Previous NHS experience within an acute hospital setting.
- Proven experience working with acute stroke patients.
- Strong assessment, rehabilitation and discharge-planning skills.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team-working abilities.
