Band 6 Locum Occupational Therapist – Acute Medicine
JustOT are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join an NHS acute hospital team in West London.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to patients within acute medicine inpatient wards, working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to support rehabilitation, functional recovery and safe discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied and complex inpatient caseload within acute medicine.
- Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based rehabilitation and interventions to maximise patients' independence and functional ability.
- Contribute to effective discharge planning, including assessment of care needs and appropriate equipment/adaptations.
- Work collaboratively with the MDT, patients, families and external services.
- Prioritise and manage your own caseload effectively within a busy acute environment.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to the overall delivery of a high-quality OT service.
Requirements
- HCPC registration.
- Relevant Occupational Therapy degree.
- Strong NHS acute medicine inpatient experience – essential.
- Excellent clinical reasoning and assessment skills.
- Experience with complex discharge planning.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Oncology experience desirable.
- Neurological experience desirable.
