Locum Band 6 Acute Occupational Therapist – Devon

JustOT are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Acute Occupational Therapist to join an NHS service in Devon on a locum basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Acute OT to work within a busy multidisciplinary team, managing a varied caseload of acute and chronic patients with complex disabilities and needs.

The Role

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients and carers.
• Manage a varied caseload including acute, chronic, complex disability and terminal care cases.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team within an acute setting.
• Ensure Occupational Therapy input is fully integrated into patients’ overall care plans.
• Work autonomously without direct supervision, including lone working where required.
• Provide supervision, training and support to junior staff and students.
• Contribute to service development in line with patient needs and Trust-wide developments.
• Help ensure an equitable and high-quality therapy service across the Trust.
• Some services may require participation in on-call and weekend working.

Requirements

HCPC registration.

• Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Strong recent NHS acute experience.
• Experience managing complex caseloads and working autonomously.
• Excellent communication and MDT working skills.
• Experience supervising junior staff and/or students is desirable.
• Flexibility to participate in on-call/weekend working where required.
