Occupational Therapist Specialist Practitioner – Fatigue Management

Salary: Pay Band: Competitive Salary - Top Band 6 equivalent

Location: Hybrid (Clinical Practice based in Hampshire)

Hours: 18 Hours per week

Our client is looking for an occupational Therapist to work as a Specialist Practitioner in Fatigue Management, delivering assessment and intervention to adults with chronic fatigue and long-term conditions using a biopsychosocial model.

The role involves working autonomously at top Band 6 equivalent level within a private practice setting, providing individual interventions, delivered via Telehealth platforms (e.g. video and telephone consultations). Interventions will be person-centered, coaching-based and holistic, supporting clients to improve function, participation and quality of life.

The post holder will also contribute to the ongoing development of the service, including service delivery models, outcome evaluation and quality improvement.


Job Role:

• Undertake comprehensive, discipline-appropriate assessments and collaboratively develop treatment plans with clearly defined, measurable outcomes related to fatigue management.

• Work with clients to identify meaningful goals that form part of an overall care plan.

• Plan and implement individual therapy sessions, using evidence-based fatigue management strategies.

• Use coaching and other relevant approaches to support self-management, pacing, energy conservation and goal attainment.

• Support clients with vocational rehabilitation, including return to work, work retention and workplace adjustments.

• Monitor and evaluate interventions using relevant outcome measures and adapt interventions where required.

• Demonstrate specialist clinical reasoning skills when working with complex and fluctuating fatigue presentations.

• Apply relevant theory and evidence to practice and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of fatigue management principles.

• Clearly articulate and promote the role of the practitioner within fatigue management and the multidisciplinary team.

• To provide education and advice to clients, carers and other professionals where appropriate, regarding fatigue management and related issues.

Qualifications:

• Qualified Occupational therapist

• HCPC Registered 

• Relevant Experience
