Locum Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist – West London

JustOT is recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a supportive children's therapy service in West London. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled paediatric OT looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people while working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

The Role

You'll provide a specialist occupational therapy service to children with a range of needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) attending out-of-borough schools. Working autonomously, you'll assess, diagnose and deliver evidence-based therapy programmes that promote independence and support positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist occupational therapy assessments, interventions and therapy programmes for children and young people.
• Manage a caseload of children, including those with EHCPs in out-of-borough schools.
• Develop and deliver training for school staff, parents and other professionals to support effective implementation of therapy recommendations.
• Prioritise the safeguarding and wellbeing of vulnerable children at all times.
• Support the service in achieving key performance indicators and maintaining high-quality clinical outcomes.
• Provide capability support, mentoring and competency development for identified team members.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits and service development projects.
• Support and supervise less experienced Occupational Therapists, assistants and volunteers through mentoring, buddying and shadowing.

Essential Requirements

• HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
• Previous experience working within paediatric occupational therapy.
• Experience completing specialist assessments and delivering therapy interventions for children with additional needs.
• Knowledge and experience of EHCP processes.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
• Experience supporting junior staff or students is desirable.
