Locum Community Palliative Care Occupational Therapist – Berkshire

JustOT are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Occupational Therapist to join a community palliative care service in Berkshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an OT who is passionate about supporting patients to maintain independence, dignity and quality of life within their own homes and community settings.

The Role

You’ll be working as part of a community-based service, completing functional assessments and providing person-centred OT interventions to patients with palliative care needs.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Complete functional assessments and identify patient needs
• Recommend and implement environmental and task-based adaptations
• Provide inclusive communication and patient education
• Promote independence and reduce barriers to participation
• Work collaboratively with patients, families and wider professionals

Essential Requirements

• HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• Experience completing functional assessments
• Ability to recommend and implement appropriate adaptations
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Commitment to promoting independence and reducing barriers

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within a relevant setting, including practice placements
• Awareness of national palliative care frameworks
• Experience with clinical audits and/or service development
• Previous experience working within a community therapy team
