Band 6 Locum Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist – East London

JustOT are currently looking for an experienced Band 6 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join a well-established NHS Mental Health service in East London.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, helping adults with severe and enduring mental illness to achieve meaningful recovery, improve wellbeing and promote social inclusion.

The Role

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Manage a keyworked caseload of service users with severe and enduring mental illness.
• Undertake specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions.
• Provide both one-to-one and group therapy sessions.
• Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
• Support the service duty rota.
• Supervise and support junior members of the Occupational Therapy team.
• Produce high-quality Occupational Therapy reports and documentation.

Essential Requirements

• HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
• Previous experience working within Mental Health services.
• Experience managing a caseload of clients with severe and enduring mental illness.
• Sound knowledge and practical application of the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO).
• Strong assessment, intervention and report writing skills.
• Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Hours 30 hours per week (0.8 WTE)

Flexible working pattern available to meet both your needs and the service requirements. An example working pattern would be Monday to Thursday, 9:00am–5:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
