Are you a passionate Band 5 Occupational Therapist looking for your next locum opportunity within community mental health services? JustOT is currently recruiting for a Band 5 Community Mental Health OT to join a supportive and well-established team in South West London.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a strong multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality care and support to adults within the community. You will play a key role in helping service users maintain their wellbeing, independence, and recovery while bringing your specialist Occupational Therapy skills and perspective to the team.

The Role:

As a Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload and providing OT-informed assessment and intervention. You will visit clients in their own homes or meet them at the community base to assess their mental state, occupational needs, and overall wellbeing.

You will work collaboratively with service users and colleagues to identify areas of support, provide appropriate interventions, and make onward referrals where required to help people remain well and engaged within their communities.

While this is a generic community mental health role, you will have the opportunity to use your OT expertise to influence care planning, promote independence, and support the wider multidisciplinary team with your specialist knowledge.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing holistic assessments of clients’ mental health, wellbeing, and occupational needs
• Visiting service users in their homes and community settings
• Delivering appropriate interventions to support recovery and independence
• Identifying support needs and making onward referrals where required
• Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Providing an Occupational Therapy perspective to assessments, care planning, and clinical discussions
• Managing your own caseload effectively while maintaining high standards of care

What we’re looking for:

• A qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration
• Previous experience within mental health settings (community experience desirable)
• Strong assessment and intervention skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A commitment to recovery-focused, person-centred care
