Locum Community Occupational Therapist – Older Adults | Surrey
JustOT is currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Community Occupational Therapist to join a supportive community team in Surrey, working predominantly with older adults.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who enjoys working independently in the community while making a meaningful difference to the lives of older people, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.
The Role
As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Complete holistic occupational therapy assessments within patients' homes and community settings.
- Work with older adults presenting with a range of physical, neurological, and age-related conditions.
- Recommend and arrange appropriate equipment and minor adaptations to promote safe and independent living.
- Carry out moving and handling assessments and provide tailored intervention plans.
- Support safe hospital discharges and help prevent unnecessary admissions.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, carers, and external agencies to deliver person-centred care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with service standards.
Requirements
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working within community services and/or with older adults.
- Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred due to the community nature of the role.
