Graduate Occupational Therapist - Housing and Property Search 

Location: South Hertfordshire – Office Based 

Salary: £31,049 – £38,000 p/a

Hours: Full Time

Our client is looking for a Newly Occupational Therapist in Hertfordshire. Client is a surveying and architectural consultancy practice specialising in the inclusive design of homes for people with disabilities and specific accommodation requirements. They are seeking a newly qualified housing Occupational Therapist to join their growing property search team. 

Key Responsibilities

 • Attend initial client and professional meetings to establish the property search brief and accommodation requirements 

• Carry out functional and environmental assessments to identify housing needs

 • Produce clear written reports outlining accommodation requirements and search criteria

 • Conduct property searches using online platforms to identify potentially suitable properties 

• Liaise with estate agents, landlords, developers and other professionals regarding accessibility, suitability and adaptation potential

 • Attend property viewings to assess layout, accessibility, circulation space and make recommendations for adaptation works 

• Support negotiations with landlords and vendors regarding adaptation works and tenancy requirements 

• Maintain accurate case records, search logs and property review notes 

• Prepare suitability assessment reports, update reports and market reviews 

• Work collaboratively with case managers, solicitors, deputies, architects, surveyors and rehabilitation professionals

Requirement:

• Occupational Therapy degree qualification and HCPC registration •Genuine interest in housing, adaptations and disability accommodation 

• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, detailed and professional reports 

• Strong record keeping and case documentation skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

 • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills 

• Strong organisational and time management abilities 

• Ability to work independently and manage varied casework 

• Good problem solving and analytical skills 

• Professional and compassionate approach with clients and families 

• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Occupational Therapist to develop advanced skills in an expanding and highly specialised area of practice.
