Locum Hand Therapy Occupational Therapist

Location: Surrey

Contract: 6 weeks (with the potential to extend)

Hours: Full-time

JustOT are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Hand Therapy Occupational Therapist to join a busy acute hospital team in Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist service, supporting patients with a wide range of hand and wrist conditions in a rewarding acute setting.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, providing specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with a variety of hand and wrist pathologies. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and treat patients with a broad range of hand and wrist conditions.

Manage acute elective, acute trauma, plastics and rheumatology patients.

Design and fabricate bespoke splints tailored to individual patient needs.

Carry out wound management and remove sutures where appropriate.

Develop personalised rehabilitation and recovery programmes to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.

Independently manage your own caseload while working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.

Previous experience working within a Hand Therapy setting.

A strong understanding of hand pathologies and their management.

Experience treating acute elective, acute trauma, plastics and rheumatology patients.

Competency in bespoke splinting, wound care and suture removal.

Excellent communication, organisational and clinical reasoning skills.
