Location: Australia / Melbourne

Salary: AUD $80,000 – $150,000 (inclusive)

Client Group: Community-based/ Disability assessor/National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Our client is looking for a newly graduated Occupational Therapist to work in a community-based setting. They are a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) health provider, delivering a range of community-based allied health services to people of all ages and abilities across Australia. Services are delivered through multiple models, including telehealth, community visits, and office-based services. Referrals may come through the NDIS, Medicare, or private sources. The team works together with the shared mission of empowering people to reach their personal goals.

Job Role

• Using evidence-based practice to assess and provide interventions for children and adults living with a range of abilities to maximise function, capacity, and social engagement.

• Managing a varied caseload across the lifespan, including clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Psychosocial Disability, Physical Disabilities, communication needs, and culturally diverse backgrounds.

• Assisting clients with assistive technology assessments, recommendations, and applications (where relevant).

• Working across different funding schemes, predominantly the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), with exposure to Enhanced Primary Care (EPC), private funding, and others.

• Providing services in community settings, with opportunities to work in office, telehealth, and from home where appropriate.

• Meeting professional expectations, including:

o Accurate invoicing and data entry.

o Achieving an average of five billable hours per day.

o Effective caseload management, ensuring appropriate appointments, active plans, and funding utilisation.

o Timely and transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

o Accurate and timely completion of reports, case notes, and correspondence.

• Attending meetings, supervision, and professional development sessions, demonstrating punctuality and active participation.

• Building relationships with therapists, clients, and referral sources.

• Understanding and complying with NDIS requirements and the NDIS Code of Conduct.

• Adhering to company policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification.

• First Aid (desirable; emergency procedures required).

• NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

• Company induction.

Essential Requirements

• Registration with the relevant professional body.

• Working with Children Check (as required by the relevant state).

• NDIS Worker Screening Check.

• Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination (or valid exemption).

• Police Check and International Police Check (where applicable).

• Driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

• Car insurance.

• Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
