Lead Occupational Therapist Band 7 – Permanent

Salary: £47,810 - £54,710 (Term Time Only – salary is paid for 45.6 weeks, aligned with NHS terms)

Hours: 38 per week

Location: Aylesbury

Essential Requirements:

• Experience with EHCPs

• Sensory Integration theory and practice

• No sponsorship available

We are seeking a Lead Occupational Therapist Band 7 to provide senior clinical leadership and strategic direction for the Occupational Therapy service within a specialist school. You will deliver a highly specialist, evidence-based service for children with complex neurodevelopmental needs, ensuring integration across the transdisciplinary team and alignment with organisational strategy, clinical standards, and school goals.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the Occupational Therapy service, shape its strategic direction, contribute to senior management decision-making, and develop staff through an established OT Competency Framework, with the support of a collaborative senior leadership team.

Job Role

• Manage a specialist caseload of children with complex neurodevelopmental needs.

• Model expert clinical reasoning within a transdisciplinary approach.

• Embed Occupational Therapy practice into the curriculum and daily routines.

• Support families through collaborative, strengths-based goal setting.

• Drive clinical governance, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.

Requirements

• HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with strong paediatric experience.

• Advanced skills in sensory processing, postural management, equipment provision, and participation frameworks.

• Confident, compassionate leadership skills.

• Commitment to child- and family-centred, innovative, specialist, and aspirational practice.
