Service User Group: Individuals with mental health conditions

An established healthcare provider is seeking a Lead Social Worker to join its hospital-based team specialising in services for people with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), progressive neurological conditions, Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), and Deaf Mental Health needs.

As Team Leader, you will lead and promote adult safeguarding while empowering recovery-focused practice. You will support service users to engage in their care plans and achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Social Worker, you will:

• Support the social work team in taking the lead on adult safeguarding.

• Deputise in quality assurance meetings as required.

• Support the delivery of safeguarding induction and update training across the hospital.

• Lead multidisciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity issues and best-interest decisions.

• Provide quality supervision and appraisals to junior and senior social workers.

• Liaise with external agencies to enable them to fulfil their statutory duties, including MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, CMHT, FIND, FOLS, Police, and Probation Services.

• Support carers and families of detained patients.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A recognised Social Work qualification.

• Registration with Social Work England.

• Good working knowledge of relevant legislation.

• At least 3–4 years' experience working in a similar environment.
