Occupational Therapist – Adult Social Care
- Location - HASS Cranbrook and Loxford – London Borough of Redbridge
- Rate - £41.58 per hour
- Working Pattern - Full Time – 36 Hours Per Week - Hybrid Working Available
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the HASS Cranbrook and Loxford locality-based multidisciplinary team within the London Borough of Redbridge.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within an integrated community health and adult social care service, supporting adults with a wide range of health and social care needs. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload consisting of both standard and complex Occupational Therapy cases, with approximately four new cases allocated per week.
The role requires a highly skilled and autonomous Occupational Therapist with extensive experience in major adaptations, specialist equipment, manual handling and complex assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake holistic, person-centred Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with a range of health conditions and support needs
- Assess for and recommend major adaptations, specialist equipment and manual handling solutions
- Prepare sketches, interpret plans and provide detailed specifications for major works
- Carry out complex assessments, support planning and reviews
- Work collaboratively within a locality-based multidisciplinary team
- Manage and prioritise a complex caseload independently and effectively
- Assess for simple and complex equipment, review effectiveness and provide guidance on safe use
- Ensure all recommendations comply with relevant legislation, policies and safe working practices
- Participate in OT duty responsibilities where required
- Maintain accurate and timely case records
Essential Requirements
- Professional Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by the HCPC
- Excellent knowledge, skills and experience in assessing for major adaptations, specialist equipment and manual handling solutions
- Experience preparing sketches, reading plans and providing detailed specifications for major works
- Strong understanding of the legal social care framework and housing legislation
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary setting undertaking complex Occupational Therapy assessments
- Ability to manage, prioritise and progress complex cases autonomously
- Experience assessing for and recommending simple and complex equipment, including reviewing effectiveness and teaching safe use
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Experience working within Occupational Therapy duty services
