Our client has a fantastic Senior Occupational Therapist Permanent opportunity, working in their hospital who offers low and medium secure services for male patients who have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and who benefit from extended treatment and rehabilitation. Client is looking for You will be instrumental in promoting health and independence by delivering high quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions, along with providing clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team. You will be key in demonstrating highly specialist expertise and specialist occupational therapy skills in areas such as occupational engagement, environmental adaption, development and maintenance of skills needed for meaningful participation. Also have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.
Job Role:
• Receive and respond promptly to new admissions, undertaking assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs.The OT team follow (MOHO) The Model of Human Occupation.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate evidence-based interventions.These will provide patients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies to function in everyday life.
• Contribute to risk assessments, formulations, attend ward rounds and CPA meetings and provide feedback on patients’ engagement in Occupational Therapy and achievement of goals.
• Develop close working relationships with clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice is in line with Elysium policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
• Maintain effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers and external professionals throughout a patient’s rehabilitation journey.
• Ensure accurate and contemporaneous electronic records and maintained.
• Take a lead within the Occupational Therapy team in the absence of the lead.
• Ensure the effective management and supervision of more junior staff.
• Contribute to service evaluation and development.
Requirements:
• An Occupational Therapy profession qualification
• UK HCPC registration
• Extensive and relevant post qualification clinical experience within an adult service
• Extensive experience of applying occupational frames of reference and approaches
• Demonstrates evidence highly effective clinical reasoning skills
• Highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models
