Client Group: community-based role requiring travel to clients' homes and community settings. (National Disability Insurance Scheme)
Driving License Required

Their team is dedicated to providing specialised allied therapy that helps NDIS participants maximise their functional capacity. They can help their clients in navigating the complexities of the NDIS system whilst working directly with them on their goals., their approach is personalised and client-focused.

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality, client-centred occupational therapy services. This is a community-based role requiring travel to clients' homes and community settings. The Occupational Therapist must hold a current driver's licence and be fit to drive to fulfil the requirements of this role. This role involves conducting occupational therapy assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary allied health team to support clients in achieving their goals and improving their quality of life.

Job Role:
* Initial Evaluations: Perform thorough assessments to understand clients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. This includes evaluating their ability to perform daily activities and identifying any barriers to independence.
* Use of Standardised Tools: Utilise evidence-based assessment tools and techniques to gather detailed information about clients' functional abilities and limitations.
* Assistive Technology Needs: Assess the need for assistive technology, such as wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility aids, to support clients' daily activities.
* Clinical Responsibilities:
* Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Initial Evaluations: Perform thorough assessments to understand clients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. This includes evaluating their ability to perform daily activities and identifying any barriers to independence.
* Use of Standardised Tools: Utilise evidence-based assessment tools and techniques to gather detailed information about clients' functional abilities and limitations.
* Assistive Technology Needs: Assess the need for assistive technology, such as wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility aids, to support clients' daily activities.
* Develop and Implement Individualised Treatment Plans: Personalised Goals: Create tailored treatment plans that align with clients' personal goals, preferences, and lifestyles. This involves setting realistic and achievable objectives.
* Intervention Strategies: Design interventions that may include exercises, activities, and the use of assistive devices to enhance clients' functional abilities.
* Home Modifications: Recommend and plan home modifications, such as installing grab bars, ramps, or re-designing bathrooms, to create a safer and more accessible living environment for clients.
* Hands-On Therapy: Deliver direct therapy sessions focusing on improving clients' motor skills, cognitive functions, and daily living activities.
* Evidence-Based Practices: Apply the latest research and best practices to ensure effective and efficient therapy outcome
* Regular Reviews: Continuously assess clients' progress towards their goals, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on their evolving needs.
* Detailed Records: Keep comprehensive records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. This documentation is crucial for tracking client progress and ensuring continuity of care.

Qualifications/ Requirements :
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
* Current registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
* Proven experience in providing occupational therapy services, preferably in a healthcare or allied therapies setting.
* High level of English competency (both written and verbal)
* Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices.
