Trainee Occupational Therapist Assistant Permanent
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday 8.30 to 4.00pm + Mandatory Training until 5.00 pm weekly

This client is an Ofsted 'Outstanding' certified school for children with Special Education Needs (SEN). It specifically focuses on pupils with severe autism. The school's new site, located in a fully refurbished historic building in West-London, increases capacity by 30 new places.
The trainee Occupational Therapist Assistant will support the provision of occupation focused assessment and intervention within the three levels of support - Universal, Targeted and Specialist of School-based Occupational Therapy.
Jo Under supervision support the OT to provide a high standard of occupational therapy provision to Children, Young People and Families within the integrated school system and approach including collaborative work with all professionals around the CYPF
Under supervision support the OT to participate in reflective practice, maintaining and furthering own professional development
Performing clerical tasks such as answering telephones and scheduling appointments.
Collecting, assessing, and recording required information such as medical history.
Implementing treatment plans and helping pupils perform therapeutic activities.
Instructing pupils and their families in the skills and techniques of a treatment program.
Monitoring pupils' performance and providing encouragement.
Documenting pupils progress, attitudes, and behaviour.
Maintaining accurate pupil records.
Maintaining the work area and equipment and ordering supplies.
Attending meetings to review plans and pupil progress.
Participating in staff training.

Under supervision support, the OT to work closely within the multidisciplinary team and develop occupation-focused targets for their IEP agreed with the Children, Young People and Families and the rest of the professionals and ensure that CYPF and supporting staff have the necessary support to meet those targets
