JustOT are looking to recruit a band 6 Community Older Adults Occupational Therapist for a locum position with our client in London.
The pay for this position is £22 - £26 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.
Job Description:
- Working within the Older People's Mental Health Service line and reporting to the Senior Practitioner (B7 OT) - Borough based. The focus of the post is to carry out comprehensive assessments and provide evidence-based interventions to patients and carers, and to supervise and clinically support more junior members of the multidisciplinary team including students.
- The post-holder will work alongside other professionals within the team in delivering a high quality and specialised service to older people with mental health problems. They will educate patients, carers and other relevant others about the importance of occupation and its positive impact to health and wellbeing. They will empower the patients in taking responsibilities with their recovery and maintaining good health and meaningful life.
- Work autonomously within their professional boundaries and seek support appropriately in- lined with the Trust Lone Working Policy and Procedures.
- Carry out comprehensive assessments using both standardised and non-standardised tools agreed for the service. They will work with the service users and their carers to identify problems or barriers in fulfilling day to day occupations and help identify strengths and resources available to patients to overcome these barriers.
- Use the Occupational Therapy Process to assess both physical and mental health needs and priorities of patients, formulate intervention plan either individualised or in groups and evaluate outcomes focusing on occupation, productivity and engagement.
- Use Occupational Therapy practice models and relevant care pathways to guide a personalised, holistic and preventative interventions underpinned by the NHS Long Term Plan visions. They will also lead on falls prevention and risk management adhering to the NICE and RCOT guidelines.
Successful candidates must hold a degree in occupational therapy and be HCPC registered.
