Job Description
Main purpose of the role:
*Provide a comprehensive, innovative and dynamic multi-disciplinary therapy service to meet the needs of pupils and services users across the Charity.
*Promote good practice through training, development and guidance to the therapy team.
*Design implement and monitor specific therapy and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)programmes to enhance and develop pupil and service user quality of life
*Provide leadership and supervision to the PCST Team ensuring efficient, effective and a continually improving therapy services
*Provide therapy advice and guidance to support staff throughout the Charity.
Role responsibilities
*Provide support, direction and leadership to the PCST team in the delivery of pupil and service user individual plans
*Assess and provide therapeutic input to pupils and services users including initial assessments, annual reviews, transition support, individual and group therapy programmes
*Manage and prioritise complex caseloads ensuring efficient use of PCST and Charity resources
*Ensure effective and productive communication with other teams as required to an deliver excellent multidisciplinary therapy service to pupils and service users
*Develop effective collaboration of the PCST with other professionals and parents as required
*Develop and deliver a range of internal and external initiatives in relation to PBS throughout the Charity * Devise, deliver and evaluate therapy training within the Charity.
*Deliver therapy training externally to promote income generation
*Produce management information reports for CEO as required
*Lead on practice development for pupils and service users
*Organise and lead de-brief sessions following difficult incidents
*Ensure all PCST members work within their professional boundaries and the Charity Guidelines
*Act as a mentor to PCST members and encourage continual professional improvement
*Link with external agencies and promote the Charity in a positive manner through a variety of opportunities
*Continually develop own and PCST knowledge of autism practice and be aware of new research, legislation and good practice guidelines in this area and brief CEO accordingly
*Manage designated budgets effectively and within set parameters
Qualifications and Education Requirements
*Registered/certified with a professional body (e.g. Registered Learning Disability Nurse, Clinical Psychologist, Board Certified Behaviour Analyst)
*Further training in Positive Behaviour Support/Applied Behaviour Analysis
*BILD Practitioner or Coach (desirable)
Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience
*At least 3 years' experience of working with individuals with learning difficulties or autistic spectrum condition
*Experience as a Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner
*Experience of working in a school, supported living or residential setting
*Previous experience of leading and managing a PCST
*Ability to analyse and resolve problems, develop opportunities and implement innovate solutions/approaches
*Able to demonstrate personal self-development and development of team
*Demonstration of high performing team work, implementing initiatives and working on own judgement and decisions
*Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
*Ability to liaise and engage with stakeholders
*Experience of budget management
*Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
Hours of work
39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm (52 weeks). Half hour unpaid lunch break.
