Locum of the Month - January 2015

Friday 2nd January 2015

Each month JustOT would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Occupational Therapy Service!

Name: Anna

Profession: Occupational Therapist

Where are you from? New Zealand

Current Locum position? Band 6 OT Early Supported Discharge Service

Personal achievements within the role? Working with patients who are early on in their recovery and making great progress is really rewarding! I’ve also had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from a number of really experienced health professionals.

What do you enjoy about being a locum? The flexibility to travel, getting to work with a lot of awesome teams, and the money is definitely a good incentive!

Most memorable moment within your career? Definitely some of the patients I have worked with, who have such a positive outlook despite life changing illness/injury. I had a patient with a complete C2 spinal cord injury that wanted to return to work, and managed to participate in a limited capacity from home.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) Matches
2.) Knife
3.) And a tent!
