A speech therapist is to be among the medical professionals taking part in a new initiative designed to improve the health of school pupils in Moray.
The Scottish district is one of four in the country to have been selected by the government to pilot a scheme entitled Health and Wellbeing in Schools.
Set to run until March 2011, the initiative will cost £2.5 million and parts of South Ayrshire, Clackmannanshire and West Lothian will also benefit.
As well as the speech therapist, a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, two clinical psychologists and a school nurse will take part in the programme.
The project was recently launched by minister for public health Shona Robison, who is an MSP for Dundee East.
She said: "I am delighted to launch this pioneering project and am confident it will have a very positive impact on the lives of the children involved and their families."
