Occupational therapist praises new equipment

An occupational therapist has spoken out in praise of new equipment received by the medical centre she works in.
Recently, Warwick Hospital bought a tool which is designed to improve patient's abilities to use their hands, the Coventry Telegraph reports.
It was purchased using money gathered through fundraisers and donations.
Costing £5,000, the device can be used to play co-ordination games, which distract patients and enable medical workers to get a true idea of how much progress they have made.
Commenting on the addition, occupational therapist Lisa Knutton said: "This tool can be used in so many different ways. It can assess a range of movements, build up strength after surgery or trauma and assess a patient's grip strength."
She added that one the best features of the device is its ability to distract patients from their rehab and increase their levels of enjoyment.
Warwick Hospital is run by South Warwickshire General Hospitals NHS Trust, which employs more than 2,200 staff members.
