A new online service which provides advice and information on equipment for children and young people with disabilities has been praised by an occupational therapist.
Set up by the Disabled Living Foundation (DLF), the website helps parents, health professionals and carers discover things about products that could be of benefit to those with disabilities.
Commenting on the service, Julia Weldon, paediatric occupational therapist at the Westminster children with disabilities team, said: "It's great to have all the information for children's equipment in one easily accessible place. There is such a lot of information on all the equipment and suppliers."
The website is called Living Made Easy For Children and its producers intend it to eventually bring together information on every product available for youngsters with disabilities.
DLF chief executive Chris Shaw said that parents with disabled children can often find it "extremely hard" to source information on ways in which help can be sought.
The DLF provides free, impartial advice concerning equipment for disabled adults, children and older people.
