A local authority in Scotland is reported to be experiencing problems with recruiting additional members of staff for its occupational therapy team.
According to the Northern Scot, Moray council is currently having to get two of its part-time workers to complete additional hours on temporary contracts in order to cope with its workload because it has received no external applications for the post.
However, even with this measure in place, the department has not been able to catch up on its backlog.
Commenting on the issue, integrated services manager Judy Fairburn said: "Some of the salary scales are not comparable with others in the Central Belt.
"We have had a meeting with personnel and will be looking at this, because we need to offer a comparable salary if we are to recruit people in future."
Recently, Bradford council received an award for an occupational therapy website it helped to create which helps to assess whether people in the local area need living aids, the Bradford Telegraph Argus reported.
