The creation of a variety of medical jobs is one step closer after a health trust revealed it is in financial negotiations with a development firm over the development of a new health clinic, it has been revealed.
According to reports in Wigan Today, Ashton, Leigh and Wigan and Halton and St Helens Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) have confirmed they are in the final stages of a plan.
A spokesperson for Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT said: "The boards of both PCTs will consider these proposals to see if they are affordable and represent value for money and the district valuer will advise both PCTs on the latter."
He added that there is still considerable work to do but that both PCTs are aiming to progress as soon as possible.
Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT holds the NHS budget for around 310,000 people and oversees a range of services, including occupational therapy and physiotherapy.
