An investment programme worth £5 million is to be ploughed into a number of Suffolk hospitals this year, it has been revealed.
According to a report in the Beccles and Bungay Journal, medical centres in Beccles, Halesworth, Gorleston and Southwold - among other places - will receive the funding to improve facilities, those with hospital doctor jobs may be interested to discover.
In addition, a further £1.9 million will be spent in 2009.
Some of the money will be used to refurbish the occupational therapy department at Southwold Hospital.
Meanwhile, £1.75 million is to be spent on the establishment of an infection-control ward at the James Paget University Hospital.
Other improvements are set to include a new screening system for Down's syndrome and the installation of new seating areas.
Recently, managers at West Sussex Primary Care Trust confirmed that a multimillion-pound hospital development in Littlehampton is going ahead despite delays, the Argus reported.
