Two teams of medical professionals from West Yorkshire are running for national NHS awards, it has been revealed.
According to reports in local paper the Halifax Evening Courier, staff members from the pathology and therapy services teams at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust are competing in the finals of the Health Service Journal magazine awards.
The trust employs UK medical professionals with a range of skills, including speech and language therapists, podiatrists, dieticians, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
"This trust has a reputation for not standing still and continually pushing the boundaries through innovation to improve service for our patients," stated chairman of the organisation Sukhdev Sharma.
He added he is "delighted" that the trust's employees are receiving the national recognition they deserve.
Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust provides services for around 435,000 people across Calderdale and Kirklees, according to figures cited on the organisation's website.
