The creation of a new centre for children with learning disabilities will lead to the creation of a range of UK medical jobs.
Plans for the scheme, which is to be based in Telford, were approved recently by the local council, the Shropshire Star reports.
Set to cost over £2.25 million, it will see an increased need for speech therapists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists, among other personnel.
The centre is expected to open in July 2009 and will be the result of collaboration between Telford & Wrekin Primary Care Trust and a local school.
Commenting on the proposals, Fran Beck, managing director of community health services, said: "These will be first-rate facilities for children with delayed development, disabilities, hearing and visual impairments."
Recently, the Yorkshire Post reported that a number of new medical jobs may be created in the West Yorkshire town of Pontefract if plans to construct a commercial park featuring a medical centre go ahead.
