JustOT are looking to recruit a Community Social Senior Services Occupational Therapist for a locum position with our client in London.
The pay for this position is £40 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.
We are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our ASC complex team
You will be responsible for direct line supervision of both
Qualified and Unqualified staff within the team.
Including but not limited to - *Advanced Practitioner Independent Living Assessors. * Independent Living Assessors. * Occupational Therapy Assistants * Sensory Officers. * Occupational Therapists
Work as a member of the Complex Occupational Therapy Service having a clinical caseload of people with complex multiple pathologies who exhibit a range of psychological, neurological, emotional, behavioural, social problems or age related conditions.
To assist in development and provide leadership within the Complex Occupational Therapy Team and provide supervision and support to qualified and unqualified staff as required.
To assess and advise residents on all aspects of their daily life, The Care Act 2014 the 1986 Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act, the 1989 Children Act, the 1990 National Health Service and Community Care Act, the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act and the 1996 Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act.
To use initiative and experience to develop intervention planning for highly complex cases, including provision of nonstandard major adaptations, tailor made specialist equipment and prescription of highly specialist seating. To act as an authoriser on Med equip for orders over the £1000 threshold for staff within your line management structure.
To assist with monitoring and allocating cases from incoming works ensuring residents are seen in a timely manner.
To work flexible hours in accordance with the demand of the service.
Where appropriate identified and provide carers assessment, capacity assessment and liaise with safeguarding team.
To work in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies and ensure that the resident has all the relevant information and support services.
To maintain concise records of assessments and other contacts with residents, relatives and other professionals in accordance with departmental and professional policies.
To maintain and produce accurate statistics and other departmental records as required.
To contribute to and participate in the planning and review of departmental policies.
To identify own training and development needs and with agreement of managers group, attend internal and external courses to support personal continuing professional development. To complete development logs and share knowledge gained within teams.
To keep abreast of developments within the OT profession and in the provision of Social Care. To design, implement and evaluate project/research type work.
To act as a representative of the OT team or service at meetings or on working parties.
To make full use of Information Technology systems i.e. Mosaic, Outlook, Word, Office 365, Teams, Intranet /Internet and to undertake further training as necessary.
To continually evaluate and update competencies for staff within the team as practice develops
Successful candidates must hold a degree in occupational therapy and be HCPC registered.
