JustOT are looking to recruit a Senior Social Services Occupational Therapist for a locum position with our client in West Midlands.
The pay for this position is £36 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration.
We are seeking a qualified Senior Occupational Therapist
To provide a co-ordinated approach to the assessment of need and produce outcome focused Occupational Therapy plans.
To have a positive approach to risk taking that empowers an individual and focuses on their assets and demonstrates a strength-based approach.
To provide a co-ordinated approach to the assessment of needs of an individual
To undertake assessment of need of service users who require a complex assessment, co ordinating those assessments where multi-disciplinary input is required in accordance with the Directorates protocols.
To respond to requests for assessment for equipment and adaptation in a timely manner.
To provide functional assessments within the community.
To make recommendations, based on assessed need for the provision of aids to daily living and adaptations.
To ensure that these recommendations are carried out, making appropriate use of specialist skills in other departments.
To ensure that any equipment supplied is fitted and demonstrated safely and clients instructed on the safe use of equipment Job Description V2 - 22.6.23 10.To demonstrate Moving and Handling of people skills, providing appropriate advice and recommending appropriate equipment as needed
To review the effect of OT intervention on client's function i.e. were outcomes achieved to provide a sensitive, flexible and appropriate response to individual service users and their carers.
To be aware of carers needs and offer carers assessments as per Care Act legislation.
To undertake supervisory responsibility for Occupational Therapists, Assistant Care Co ordinators and Team assistants, to include case load supervision and case closure.
To deputise for the Assistant Team Manager/Team Manager as required.
To use own vehicle insured for business purposes to undertake home assessments and to transport aids to daily living as required
To participate in the Occupational Therapy Duty System. 17.To maintain records and write reports in accordance with the Directorates Policy and Procedure
To keep up to date with changes in Assistive Technology and Telecare
To undertake training as appropriate including Fieldwork Educators Course and participate in the clinical education of students 20.To liaise with other staff within Adult Social Care in matters relating to OT and to act in an advisory capacity to these teams
To work within the Professional Code of Conduct of Occupational Therapists 22.To undertake activities to support CPD and requirements of the HCPC
To keep up to date with professional developments in the field of Occupational Therapy and Housing
To maintain effective working relationships with internal and external providers and to convene and attend multi-disciplinary meetings as required 25.To keep up to date with professional developments in the field of Adult Services and to make appropriate recommendations to the Team Manager on the development or review of services
To contribute to service developments where appropriate
To develop a comprehensive knowledge of local resources in order that service users/carers are fully informed as to the choices of assistance available to them
To be a committed team worker and participate in working towards targets and monitoring and evaluating the work of the Directorate V2 - 22.6.23 29.To perform statutory duties appropriate to the post
To work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of service users and their carers

Successful candidates must hold a degree in occupational therapy and be HCPC registered.
