Our client is looking for a band 5 Occupational Therapist to join their team in London .

Job Description

Role Title:Occupational Therapist (Band 5)

Reporting to:Lead Occupational Therapist

Pattern of Work:Full time

Role Purpose:

To provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment within an interdisciplinary team framework for patients with complex rehabilitation needs following acquired and traumatic brain injury.

Key Result Areas:

The post-holder will:

-Maintain a small independent caseload providing Occupational Therapy assessment and therapy for patients with complex rehabilitation needs.

-Develop comprehensive discharge plans, making timely referrals to and liaising with relevant community services.

-Evaluate effectiveness of interventions using agreed outcome measures.

-Provide Occupational Therapy as part of the multidisciplinary team, and be involved in MDT service developments, meetings and audit as appropriate.

-Adhere to risk management strategies agreed by the multidisciplinary team for individual patients.

-Act as 'keyworker' for patients and their families whilst they are treated at the Centre

-Provide supervision and support to Rehabilitation Technicians alongside senior members of the team.

-Participate in reflective practice and engage actively in regular supervision

-Maintain client records and collect activity data/statistics in accordance with company policy.

-Work in accordance with the HCPC professional practice, ensuring practice is evidence based and based on national clinical standards

-Provide training related to Occupational Therapy to other multidisciplinary colleagues.

-Provide training specific to individual patients to the nursing and care team as appropriate.

-Ensure full and accurate recording of interventions and assessments in line with Company and local policy.


The post-holder will:

-Identify own training needs as part of CPD plan and contribute to accurate objective setting.

-Maintain a professional development portfolio in line with HCPC registration requirements.
