Our client is looking for an OT to join their team

As the Clinical Advisor in the Community Equipment Service, you will work with the senior management team, referrers, suppliers and store teams to successfully deliver a patient focused service that supports individuals accessing the right equipment to support their needs at the right time.

Responsibilities-
*Providing comprehensive, specialist support and advice to referrers into the Service and the managers and colleagues within the Service in order to further develop and continue to deliver a high quality equipment loan service.
*Providing expert knowledge and advice on the supply, suitability and procurement of equipment into and from the service.
To work collaboratively with health & social care professionals in the development of best practise for the future provision of equipment across South East region.
*To work collaboratively with the Operations Manager to ensure TCES Catalogue systems are in place for the supply and distribution of equipment across Kent and the South East as required
The Community Equipment Service is a joint venture between health and social care covering the whole of Medway. The service delivers, collects and recycles loaned community equipment to help people live independently in their own homes. This equipment includes simple Aids for Daily Living to more complex mechanical devices such as electric profiling beds, air mattresses and hoists.
The service is essential to the health and social care provision as it helps to prevent admission to hospital and aids in the discharge of patients from hospital.

Requirements -
*To work autonomously without direct supervision using clinical judgement to ensure effective use of recycled equipment
*To be professional and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work
*To demonstrate highly specialised working knowledge of simple and complex aids for daily living, their appropriate usage and limitations provided to support the independent living of patients
*To provide specialist assessment and advice regarding specific mobility difficulties
*To advise and direct clinical staff regarding clinical factors and appropriate provision of equipment
*To make recommendations to, and work collaboratively with, equipment providers, charitable organisations and other stakeholders in the future development of systems/equipment and the development of the Service catalogue
*To be effective and confident in manual handling and in the use of moving and handling equipment.
*To act as role model through the provision of professional leadership and demonstration of competent practice
*Implementation and continuous evaluation of quality improvement initiatives
*Ensure clinical governance is incorporated into practice and is able to interpret national policies and guidelines relevant to the speciality
*Proactively work to minimise/manage risk
