Our NHS Clients based in Oxfordshire are looking for Occupational Therapists who is confident and have worked in an acute inpatient setting.
Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our busy 'Acute Inpatient' team.
The role has been described as follows:
You will be based on our Male Acute Inpatient Ward but also work across into our Female Acute Inpatient ward where a Band 5 Occupational Therapist is based. Both posts are supported by activity workers on the wards.
In addition, there is a band 7 Occupational Therapist who will provide clinical OT leadership to the inpatient services.
Our acute inpatient services are based on our supportive recovery orientated multidisciplinary team. Using evidence-based assessments and an established Occupational Therapy inpatient pathway, you will assess an individual's strengths, areas for development and personal occupational goals, to design interventions that support their recovery and successful transition from the ward to their communities.
Applicants should be highly motivated and have some working knowledge of working in an Acute setting. A basic understanding of psychiatric illnesses, risk assessment, care planning, the Mental Health Act, de-escalation principles and positive engagement is required. It is also essential to have well-developed communication skills to be an effective clinician and a team player.
You will be part of the well-established multi-disciplinary team, offering one to one interventions and group work. The role will require completing Occupational Therapy specific assessments, joint care planning, risk assessment, attending ward rounds and treatment delivery within the team, utilising the framework of the Occupational Therapy care pathway to support this work.
