JustOT are recruiting for a Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist who is looking to work in the Shetland Islands.

JOB PURPOSE
*To be responsible for provision of advanced assessment, treatment and management of babies/children/adolescents within their family educational and social context, who present with a wide variety of conditions. These include chronic, complex, disabling and life limiting conditions across traditional physical and social care boundaries.
*To provide a source of expertise and demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills and experience in the management of paediatric neurological and developmental conditions for babies, children, and adolescents with palliative care needs
*To educate and train other healthcare professionals (registered and unregistered), multi-agency professionals, therapy students, parents/relatives/carers in occupational therapy skills and techniques.
*To train, supervise and support registered and unregistered occupational therapy staff in the delivery of occupational therapy services
*To lead and case manage highly complex/paediatric cases within the context of a multi-disciplinary team setting, as an autonomous practitioner.
*To work in the community as a lone practitioner in line with the local lone worker policy in order to deliver assessment, treatment, training and management activities in the most appropriate setting for the babies/children/adolescents and carers.
*To take a lead role in the assessment for and recommendation of equipment for babies/children/adolescents with complex needs in the community as a statutory duty within traditional health boundaries and on behalf of the Local Education Authority
*Define, lead and develop the occupational therapy clinical services through a range of initiatives including involvement in clinical audit and planning, establishing and piloting new initiatives, the effective use of resources, and the use of information technology for the improvement of client care.
*Contribute to and engage with the Senior Occupational Therapy Team across the integrated service in providing support, knowledge, and training to the wider team.
