Our client in South Wales requires a Band 7/8 to join their team .
They are looking to recruit a specialised Occupational Therapist with experience in older persons mental health including complex care and associated neurological conditions. The role will include own caseload as well as supervising a small team of Occupational Therapists and technicians. Our client has an expanding service which can be challenging and rewarding. Occupational Therapists work closely with other members of the MDT which include Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. The post will require an understanding of service development and an ability to guide the team to meet the needs of the service.
*To promote Occupational Therapy within the hospital
*To ensure clinical objectives are achieved.
*To provide leadership and guidance of staff in line with Company standards.
*To be responsible professionally for staff on a daily basis.
*To identify training needs for staff team, in line with the needs of the service.
*To ensure that Company Policies and Procedures are followed at all times.
*To provide Clinical related Occupational Therapy intervention guided by the client's specific needs, wishes and aspirations.
*To develop and implement treatment programmes either in groups or to individuals in close liaison with other disciplines involved in the clients care, having emphasis on multi-disciplinary teamwork.
*Attend relevant clinical and administrative meetings.
*Attend relevant organisational meetings.
*Regularly monitor and evaluate the Occupational Therapy service within the hospital .
*To be involved when appropriate in the assessment of aids / adaptations to enable the client to improve / maintain own level of functional daily living skills.
*Promote Occupational therapy as an integral part of the Clinical Team.
*Maintain up to date and professional clinical records that meet legal requirements.
*To be involved in the development of Quality Standards, Audit and Research development. To be active in Clinical Governance.
*To maintain and support a learning environment.
*Ensure that all clients within St Peters Hospital have a comprehensive assessment that assists in the planning of their programme based on client need
