Our client in Staffordshire is looking for an OT to work in the Community.
Our client's award winning Home Improvement Agency Service is dedicated to making suitable, fit-for-purpose adaptations to service user's homes which help them to live more independently.
You will be required to -
*Undertake holistic, home-based assessment of service users with a variety of physical, cognitive, sensory and/or learning disabilities. With an emphasis on assessing difficulties arising as a result of the home environment.
*Make recommendations on adaptations required within the homes of service users, which will appropriately meet their long term needs, and those of their carers.
*Support caseworkers, technical officers and technicians in the delivery of minor adaptations, Disabled Facilities Grants and privately funded adaptations.
*Assess for appropriate equipment where needed, to maximise the benefits of the adaptation(s).
*Liaise with registered providers of social housing regarding adaptations required for their tenants.
*Work closely with Allied Health Professionals, within both social and health services.
*Participate and contribute as required with clinical audit, evaluation and research activities.
*Represent the service by taking an active role in relevant activities, conferences and events, and pro-actively ensure that all aspects of the Service are promoted and made equally accessible to all communities within the catchment area.
Required -
*A BSc degree in Occupational Therapy
*Current HCPC professional registration
*Previous experience of working as an Occupational Therapist with patients with long-term and deteriorating medical conditions, including palliative care and an understanding of the impact of these conditions on patient's lives
*Experience of undertaking holistic assessments
*Previous experience of working in a similar service is preferred but not essential
*Current UK driving licence (minimum 3 years) and access to your own vehicle
