Our client based in Gloucestershire is looking for a Band 5/6 Neuro Occupational Therapist to join their team

Our client's Neuro Centre is a recent and purpose built unit with 60 beds.
It is supported by a team of dedicated professionals including specialist Consultants in rehabilitation, GPs, nurses and therapists and boasts a well-equipped therapy gym, workshop, sensory and activities rooms to aid individual progress.

Skills required -

Competent to provide complex respiratory care, to non tracheostomy, tracheostomy and ventilated patients.
To undertake a comprehensive assessment of residents including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi pathologies; use of clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate diagnosis of their conditions.
Formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills e.g. Manual physiotherapy techniques and other alternative options
Will recognise own limitations and ask for assistance as appropriate.
Assess mental capacity and gain consent before all interventions.
Use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with residents to progress rehabilitation and treatment programmes.
Where applicable represent OT service and/or individual residents at the multi-disciplinary team meetings, case reviews and Ward Round to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated multidisciplinary service, and integrate OT treatment into the treatment programme.
To liaise with outside clinical specialist agencies to support best clinical outcomes.
Within individuals scope of practice to be responsible for the safe and competent use of all OT equipment and resident appliances and aids used by residents.

To take a lead in clinical incident management.
To provide day to day leadership to the wider therapy team in absence of therapy manager.

*Assess and analyse patients to determine their need for Occupational Therapy Intervention within a specialist area.
*Plan, implement and evaluate work to enable patients to maximize functional independence and rehabilitation potential.
*Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards.
*To complete access/home visits to support discharge as appropriate.

Required -
Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
*Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
*Member of College of Occupational Therapists
*Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of Occupational Therapy, through CPD.
*Able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of assessing and treating people with a complex condition.
*Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and protection of vulnerable adults.
*Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non-verbal) with patients, visitors, Occupational Therapist and the wider multidisciplinary team.
