We are currently seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities Low Secure Service, located in the village of Barham, 6 miles from Canterbury and 10 miles from Dover.

Cedar House Hospital - near Canterbury

The hospital is a 40 bed low secure hospital that provides specialist assessments, treatment and care for adults with intellectual disabilities, personality disorders or autistic spectrum disorders, including those with challenging behaviours and forensic histories.

We work collaboratively with our patients and their families or carers and provide person-centred care and support. We employ staff in a variety of different roles and provide ongoing support with comprehensive training, learning and development opportunities.

As a qualified Senior Occupational Therapist you will demonstrate established skills in the assessment and treatment of patients with Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities, in aLow Secure Service Setting. The successful candidate will join our experienced Occupational Therapy Team and work within the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Patients are referred via NHS and local authorities. We play an integral part in contributing to new models of care outlined in the Five Year Forward View.

Job Summary:

*To develop and deliver an occupational therapy (OT) assessment and treatment service to patients within a specified number of services.
*To provide unit-based, occupation-focused occupational therapy to patients with complex developmental disorders and mental health needs.
*Be an active and integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
*With other members of the multi-disciplinary team, co-ordinate clinical care for patients within the hospital.
*To develop and supervise the work of Technical Instructors and to provide clinical supervision, as required.
