Our client is a leading specialist in nursing homes for people with long-term neurological conditions which include prolonged disorder of consciousness (PDoC) and long-term mechanical ventilation dependents since 2006. Our client provides tailored neuro-disability management for a variety of neurological deficits such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's Disease, degenerative neurological disorders and long-term neuro-respiratory conditions. Specialist clinical services are provided by multi-professional teams through two sites, in SE London and Surrey .

Job Summary
To provide highly specialised occupational therapy assessment and intervention for residents with complex needs, and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals. Post-holder will work autonomously and providing all aspect of occupational therapy and leading activity team for leisure / recreation activities / sensory stimulation in meaningful way for residents with diverse cognitive presentations and complex physical disability through junior staff / assistants / healthcare assistants / activity staffs / family members.

Dimension & Context of the Role
The senior occupational therapist will be responsible for occupational therapy case load which is allocated by the therapy manager to enable or restore residents to the highest level of physical, cognitive, psychological and social independence as possible and support team and families.

Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery
To be responsible for a clinical caseload and ensure that the residents receive appropriate treatment to a high professional standard, in accordance with the Professional Standards and Code of Ethics of the College of Occupational Therapist (COT). To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work.
To undertake a specialist assessment of residents, including those with diverse or complex physical disability and multi-pathologies; use clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an accurate foundation for the therapeutic management of resident's conditions.
