JustOT is recruiting for an OT to cover three learning disability and autistic hospitals based in Essex and Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for an OT looking for a company that is forward thinking in their approach to mental health services.

Job Summary:
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team which provides service to people who have Learning Disability with health care or psychiatric needs. To provide clinical evidence based Occupational therapy service to our patients. To also provide supervision and appraisal for designated staff to promote professional development and assist in implementing service developments within the Company.

Generally speaking the perceived needs of our clients can be broadly categorised as:
*Complex - When the circumstances of the individual are characterised by some or all of complexity (wide-ranging and/or competing/disparate needs), high risk, volatility, the possibility of a major life transition and/or where the likely care plan may be subject of major legal challenge, be very expensive, or may involve conflict between user and carer or influential other.
*Non-Complex - Where the assessments and the needs, which then may require service provision, are limited, well defined, low risk and where eligibility criteria are clearly defined and the services, which may be required, are cost limited.
*Professional / Clinical
*To be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team.
*To be fully aware of and comply with the rules of professional conduct as set by The College of Occupational Therapy.

Main Duties
*To monitor and evaluate the outcome of clinical practices and liaise with team members in the development of effective models of service delivery.
*To maintain concise and accurate records as requested by the Clinical Team
*To carry out specific assignments and projects negotiated with the Clinical Team.
*To participate fully in the multidisciplinary patient care programmes including the delivery of therapy programmes and the provision of aids.
*To contribute to the development and management of the team through provision of relevant information and training

*Experience in assessment
*Experience of work in a multidisciplinary environment
*Relevant experience in Mental Health and knowledge of mental health related legislation
*Skills and Knowledge
*Good written and verbal communication skills
*Good IT skills,
*Ability to work flexibly and Independently
*Ability to work under pressure in situations of crisis.
*Ability to organize self and work alone as well and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
*Familiar with the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Occupational Therapists.
*Degree in Occupational Therapy
*Registered with the HCPC
*Evidence of continuing professional development
*Demonstrate a genuine interest in the care of mentally disordered patients
