JustOT is recruiting for a band 5 Occupational Therapist for a mental health and learning disabilities unit in Cheadle Stoke on Trent.

The unit is a male learning disability hospital with 40 beds. They have a range of services on-site from Autism-specialist units, to locked rehabilitation and apartments/cottage-style living. They have a full MDT on-site with Psychiatry, Nursing, Support Workers, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology and OT. Newly qualified therapists will be considered, however some knowledge or university placements within a similar clinical area would be desirable.

Job summary
*Providing comprehensive initial and continuing OT assessments, according to the agreed model to meet CPA guidelines and OT service delivery agreement
*Planning and facilitating needs-led, evidence-based individual and group treatment programmes, under the supervision of the Lead OT
*Planning and regularly reviewing appropriate OT treatment programmes under the supervision of the Lead OT
*Identifying and actioning relevant referrals both in-house, including support staff, and to external agencies, under the supervision of the Lead OT
*Attending and actively contributing to CPA/Case review meetings, working collaboratively with MDT colleagues in the planning and delivery of patients treatment programme
*Ensuring that professional standards and COT Code of Conduct guidelines are adhered to at all times
*Ensuring that local policies, procedures and protocols are adhered to at all times

To be considered for this role you'll need:
*Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
*State Registration (HPC)
*To be a member of BAOT (desirable)
*Basic knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance
*Knowledge/experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities
*Understanding of the CPA process
*Evidence of ability to research, plan, implement and evaluate a project for a specific patient group
*Must be a car driver as location is rural.
