Band 7 Equivalent
Salary: £31,000 - £41,000
JustOT have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist with proven neurological experience to work in an exceptional specialist neurological centre in York. Working within this outstanding post-acute specialist neurorehabilitation service for brain and spinal injury you will assess and treat conditions using specific activity to prevent disability and promote independent function in all aspects of daily living.
*To use specialised skills to provide a high standard of assessment and treatment of residents who may have diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
*To develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
*To agree person-centred goals in partnership with residents, carers, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
*To provide specialist advice, teaching and training regarding rehabilitation management of residents on caseload.
*To work as an autonomous practitioner having mainly self-directed support and learning, and formal agreed supervision.
*To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of residents in your care.
*To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the residents under your management, and support other staff to do likewise.
*To formulate and deliver an individual Occupational Therapy treatment programme based on extensive experience and a sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options using advanced clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills e.g. activity analysis of functional skills, patient education, manual handling techniques and other alternative options.
*To evaluate resident progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes if required.
*To use advanced clinical reasoning to predict achievable outcomes of treatment and to recommend the best course of intervention, developing comprehensive treatment plans, in conjunction with other professions and agencies.
Qualifications & Training
oDiploma / degree in O.T.
oMembership of COT
oEvidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses
oPost graduate accredited course in Rehabilitation/Neurology.
oMembership of relevant COT special interest group.
Knowledge & Experience
oProven post graduate experience with extensive clinical experience relevant to the post
oExperience of a wide range of clinical rehabilitation areas of practice to include, neurological rehabilitation.
oExperience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
oExperience in neurorehabilitation and neurobehavioural rehabilitation
oExperience of lone working
oKnowledge of clinical governance
oExperience of service development and review
