Band 6 Rotational Acute Therapy / Community

JustOT have a fantastic opportunity for a Band 6 OT to work for an acute hospital in Stevenage Hertfordshire. The hospital provides Outpatient services at the Treatment Centre, your caseload will be varied between in - patient ward settings, intermediate care settings and in the patient's own home.
Your job purpose will be -
*You will provide specialized assessment and treatment for patients with complex needs, and to provide expert advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non-professionals.
*You will participate in the Band 6 rotational scheme which involves working across the Hertfordshire Community Trust in a variety of settings including inpatient wards, outpatient department, day hospitals, community and in the patient's own home.
*You will assist service delivery and responsiveness by working flexibly. This may include flexible working patterns with early and late shifts, or 7 day working on a rota basis.
Your duties will include -
*To perform Integrated Therapy assessments and specific Occupational Therapy assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions; To develop and deliver an individualized treatment programme which will ensure timely & safe discharges, the prevention of hospital re-admissions and inappropriate discharges.
*To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working with minimal supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular one to one sessions with the line manager, formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences and reflective practice. Access to advice and support from a senior Occupational Therapist is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated.
*To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner within a range of therapy models, eg integrated working.
*To be responsible for supervision, education and assessment of Band 5 Therapists, Assistants, Technical Instructors and Support Workers.
To be considered for this role you must have -
*Bachelor / diploma in Occupational therapy
*Full HCPC registration
*Experience of working across several rotational areas within an NHS setting.
*Driving licence/car owner
