Whitby Hospital to undergo refurbishment
Tuesday 10th November 2009
Those in occupational therapy jobs at Whitby Hospital could be set to benefit from a £1 million refurbishment at the establishment.
Work to replace windows and the roof is due to be completed by March of next year, with facilities operating as normal while it is carried out.
The hospital's Elaine Rigden explained that the measure is intended to improve the environment for staff as well as patients, while Janet Probert of the North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust told the Whitby Gazette the move will allow safety standards to be maintained.
Ms Probert, who is managing director of community and mental health services, was quoted as saying: "This £1 million programme of work will ensure we are able to continue to provide [a safe environment] at Whitby Hospital now and in the future."
Last month, the Worthing Herald noted that more than £100,000 had been donated to make a range of improvements at Worthing Hospital.
