Plans for a rehabilitation centre designed for blind and partially sighted ex-servicemen and women have been announced.
The centre, which may employ occupational therapists, would be based in the former North Wales Medical Centre in Llandudno, the Daily Post reports.
Recently, the St Dunstan charity, which is behind the idea, gained planning approval from the Conwy County Council and Welsh heritage body Cadw.
Responding to the development, spokeswoman for the charity Laura Mitchell said: "We are delighted to now be in a position to progress with the refurbishment which will involve converting the building to offer a full range of services and facilities meeting the needs of those who have lost their sight."
Patients at the centre will benefit from rehabilitation and training and will be taught independent living skills.
There will also be specially adapted leisure, dining and accommodation facilities.
St Dunstan already has two centres located in Ovingdean and Sheffield.
