Occupational therapists looking for fresh challenges will find many options available to them, it has been claimed.
Writing for the Guardian, Debbie Andalo said an experienced occupational therapist could consider moving to a primary care trust and working as an inter-professional training ward facilitator.
"It is an innovative post, working on a hospital rehabilitation ward for older people and is designed as a training placement for allied health professionals and other clinical pre-registration students," she noted.
Another option occupational therapists can pursue is joining a multi-disciplinary health and social care team as transition worker, earning up to £39,517.
Meanwhile, those looking for a complete career change could consider becoming university lecturers, Ms Andalo added.
According to the NHS, there is also call for occupational therapists in prisons and nursing homes, and with housing associations.
