An occupational therapist has been praised for her work in a mental health unit.
During a recent ceremony, Jane Tyrer, occupational health lead at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, was honoured with an award, the Crewe and Nantwich Guardian reports.
The Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust awards took place in in New Brighton on the Wirral and it saw the medical professional pick up an accolade for improving patient experience.
Commenting on her achievement, Ms Tyrer said: "I know the changes and the transformation of the occupational therapy activity centre wouldn't have been possible without the service user's active involvement and enthusiasm and the commitment and hard work of the team."
She added that she was "surprised and honoured".
Employing in the region of 2,600 members of staff, the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has an annual budget of £115 million and it is headquartered at the Countess of Chester Health Park.
