Multi-million pound primary care centre to go ahead
Thursday 22nd January 2009
People seeking UK medical jobs may welcome news that plans for a multi-million pound primary care centre have been given the go-ahead.
According to reports in Hospital Development magazine, proposals regarding the development in Great Yarmouth were approved by the local authority earlier this month.
A medical centre which already exists on the intended site has been closed since 2005 when concerns were raised over leaks and cracked brickwork.
Great Yarmouth district council leader Barry Stone said: "There is an identified need for a new facility and the fact it is going to be a walk-in clinic should make it a lot easier for people to use when they need it."
Meanwhile, the Ipswich Evening Star recently revealed that St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich has undergone renovations, including the addition of new physiotherapy and occupational therapy services.
The improvements were made as part of an ongoing £1 million investment in the centre.
